Mom: Okay, boys, stop it. Go pick out your candy.
Boy: Mom, can I have gum?
Mom: Yes, but if you are having gum, then it must be sugarless?
Boy: Is this one sugarless?
Mom: Yes, but if you want candy, then you should get the Skittles.
I was so confused that I continued to listen to them for another minute or so. The mother, concerned for her children's teeth, was actively encouraging them to go for the Skittles.
I don't know about you, but the last time I ate Skittles, I had to promise every single tooth in my mouth that I would follow-up with flossing and brushing, and even then they threatened to book a hasty retreat from my mouth.
Very odd.
